Valdivia doesn\u2019t need sets to captivate. Its natural beauty, unique navigability, status as a wetland city, and living history are part of the daily narrative for those who live here. But there\u2019s something more, something fermenting strongly in its identity: craft beer as part of the landscape and the future.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s no coincidence. Valdivia is surrounded by fresh water, with soft water ideal for brewing beer, a climate that supports the process, and a tradition dating back to 1851 with the arrival of German settlers. This combination of factors, along with the strongest earthquake ever recorded by humanity, shaped a resilient territory that has learned to build from its resources. Today, we have over 150 active breweries in the Los R\u00edos region, many of them nationally and internationally recognized.<\/p>\n

Being a beer capital is everyone's responsibility. And that\u2019s where the challenge lies: transforming this brewing density into a driver of development. Craft beer is generating jobs, creating opportunities for technical education, boosting entrepreneurship, and connecting knowledge. Events, training spaces, and strategic alliances with other sectors have emerged. Yet, the narrative still needs to be consolidated.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The beer culture in Valdivia is strong; it can connect with tourism, education, and strategic planning. We need to recognize that beer is part of our productive identity, part of our cultural identity, and we must work to ensure it is also part of our future.<\/p>\n

Valdivia no necesita decorados para cautivar. Su belleza natural, su navegabilidad \u00fanica, su condici\u00f3n de ciudad humedal y su historia viva son parte del relato cotidiano de quienes habitamos aqu\u00ed. Pero hay algo m\u00e1s, algo que fermenta con fuerza en su identidad: la cerveza artesanal como parte del paisaje y del futuro.<\/p>

No es casualidad. Valdivia tiene agua dulce rodeando la ciudad, agua blanda ideal para elaborar cerveza, un clima que acompa\u00f1a los procesos, y una tradici\u00f3n que se remonta a 1851, con la llegada de los colonos alemanes. Ese conjunto de factores, sumado al terremoto m\u00e1s fuerte registrado por la humanidad, model\u00f3 un territorio resiliente, que ha aprendido a construir desde sus recursos. Hoy contamos con m\u00e1s de 150 cervecer\u00edas activas en la regi\u00f3n de Los R\u00edos, muchas de ellas reconocidas a nivel nacional e internacional.<\/p>

Ser capital cervecera es una responsabilidad de todos. Y ah\u00ed es donde est\u00e1 el desaf\u00edo: transformar esa densidad cervecera en un motor de desarrollo. La cerveza artesanal est\u00e1 generando empleos, abriendo oportunidades de formaci\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica, impulsando emprendimientos y conectando saberes. Se han creado eventos, espacios de capacitaci\u00f3n, alianzas estrat\u00e9gicas con otros rubros. Y sin embargo, falta consolidar el relato.\u00a0<\/p>

La cultura cervecera en Valdivia es potente, puede articularse con el turismo, con la educaci\u00f3n, con la planificaci\u00f3n estrat\u00e9gica. Necesitamos reconocer que la cerveza es parte de nuestra identidad productiva, de nuestra identidad cultural, y trabajar para que tambi\u00e9n sea parte de nuestro futuro.<\/p>
